My Poor Baby

When Rylee was born she had to have help coming out and her left clavicle broke. She had to have her arm strapped to her, it was heartbreaking. She also had jaundice and we had to take her to Children's Mercy with in the first few days of her life. They had to strap an IV to her right arm. She looked so pitiful in the box of blue lights all naked and with bandages holding her arms down. Poor little baby.

A couple weeks ago we were having a garage sale and I was playing with Rylee on the couch and she leaned back real quick, (these things always happen so fast) and she fell back off the couch. She broke her left clavicle again. I knew it was broken, because she was holding it and whimpering. I took her outside and she couldn't really put any pressure on it so I took her to her pediatrician. The nurse looked her over and said she was okay and didn't need x-rays.

I trusted the nurse and we went about our weekend. My mom and Kris picked her up by that arm and she squealed and then was acting just fine. Monday afternoon came and I picked her up to put her into bed and she screamed at me and I looked where her collar bone and it was swollen and reddish. I called the same nurse and she said she prob is just pooling blood under the skin, or swollen, and to bring her in Tuesday and she will take a look. Kris came home Monday night and played with her in the back yard. He lifted her under her arms to put her on the ground, off the deck, and heard a pop and Rylee called out. We decided then to take her to Children's Mercy.

We were there forever, but that didn't matter, we just wanted to make sure she was okay. They x-rayed her and I had to sit in the hall, because I'm pregnant. I just had to listen to her screaming, broke my heart. Sure enough broken left clavicle. Most common fracture with little ones, and oddly in the same place as when she was being born... Poor baby. So they gave us a sling that is too big for her.

We changed her primary care Dr. and had a follow up a week later and she said she has to wear the sling for four more weeks and get more x-rays. Well, a couple weeks to go and she is already climbing all over and acting like nothing ever happened. The first week was the hardest. Poor little girl. I have pictures, but for some reason the blog won't attach them. xoxo

First signs of "The Bump"

Kris and I found out we were expecting another child, and couldn't be more thrilled. It is so important to me that our children know they were intended that we even let some people know we were trying so there would be no talk of this little one being an "oops" or an "uh oh". Okay, so, with out further delay...
Yes, that is Abbey Road in the back ground right above our stove. :) Okay, here is another one.

Okay, now brace yourselves, the next one shows some skin.

So, he/she is already taken over my body and we are 10 weeks in. We will be finding out the gender around 20 weeks, so long as the little one cooperates. The most popular question we have been getting from people is what do you want. The best answer we have is a healthy human baby. :)

Kris has been at his new job for three weeks now and though it is a struggle financially during this training period, I am really enjoying him being home more often and I know that God will bless us. He already has in so many ways.

Well, hope you all enjoyed the baby bump pics, I will post more in a couple months.
